Makerspace Arrives at McBride!

McBride now has a makerspace open in the library!

Mrs. Oxley and Mrs. Sharma are running a makerspace in the library. The makerspace is open Mondays from 3 to 3:30. It is a time for students in grades 3 to 5 to use some of the exciting tech materials our school has invested in or to work on projects of their own choosing.

If you like to build, experiment, invent or create, the makerspace is something you’ll want to check out.
To support makerspace time, either during the after school club or during the school day, the library is looking for the following donations:

  • Playdough and clay
  • Lego
  • Colouring, painting
  • Arts and craft materials
  • Clean, flattened cereal boxes
  • Beads
  • String or ribbon
  • Rainbow Looms
  • Sewing supplies
  • Plain, wooden blocks
  • Magnets or magnetic building kits
  • Small, clean stuffed animals
  • Anything else students might enjoy building or creating with!

If you have donations, please give them to the classroom teacher or the office and the materials will be passed along to the library.
