McBride Students Achieve Success in the National Remembrance Day Poster Contest

Congratulations to Ms. Wrightman’s students who participated in the Royal Canadian Legion’s longstanding Annual Poster and Literary Contests.  The contest helps  Canadian school children honour Canada’s Veterans through creative art and writing, and help perpetuate Remembrance.

Royal Canadian Legion Branch #2 President Clarence Thompson, 1st Vice President Terry Leith, and 2nd Vice President and Poppy Chairperson Pat Andre honoured 11 students today at Richard McBride at a special ceremony.

All participating students were recognized by the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #2.  Daniel Arous placed 1st in the Primary Colour Category in the New Westminster and District Zones.  Sidney Riddle placed 1st provincially in the Primary Black & White and progressed onto 2nd place in the Primary Dominion Command (National) Section.  Congratulations to all of our students who participated in this event and a big thank you to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 2 for making the presentation at our school.  A performance by the Hi Notes choir added to the special occasion.  Thank to all those involved in this special event.
